MH503 Mod 1 Case 2 LP
Writer, below is the notes from the professor on case 1 you wrote, please make changes for case 2. Thanks
Case 1 45 / 50 Individual Feedback:
Assignment-Driven Criteria: All of the questions and sub questions are answered and developed reasonably.
Critical Thinking: You present views and conduct a good gap analysis of the 9-11 question. It is reasonable and well asserted.
Scholarly Writing: Generally your writing is strong, easy to read, and mechanically sound. It needs minor editing.
When you use a citation with a page number, the assumption is that its a quote – also indicated by the language use in the sentences. So make sure you use quotation marks (such as in the following example from your paper)!
Further, active elicitation that involves suspicious individuals asking about security measures and the number of employees in given areas, and suspicious surveillance plans among others are key indicators of a potential terror attack (Preventing terrorism and enhancing security: Implementing 9/11 Commission recommendations, 2014, p. 1).
Citing Sources: You are inconsistent in your use of citations for instance: you need to cite the following paragraph
“Moreover, thousands of the affected people were pushed back to poverty given that most of their wealth, including infrastructure and other assets, were lost during the tsunami. Areas close to the earthquake’s epicenter such as the Aceh province experienced the greatest impact from both the earthquake shaking and the tsunami. The shaking damage comprised of a serious damage and collapse of buildings more than three stories high in the region. Further, the Aceh region experienced a fault deformation that caused a 20 to 100 centimeters of the earth crust’s down warping, which frustrated the rescue efforts for the affected communities and hindered the restoration of vital infrastructure, including bridges, utility distribution systems, and roads among others.”
Clearly you have found the data for this material from an outside source and need to credit the original author or authors with an end of paragraph citation(s). You do this throughout your paper.

Module 2 – Case
Mitigation and Risk Reduction
Earthquakes occur rapidly without warning. Mitigation measures, if done effectively, serve to prevent or lessen deaths and damage to infrastructure. Depending on where one is located, earthquakes may have minimal to medium effects on life and structures, such as perhaps in a suburban or rural area. A major city, such as San Francisco, on the other hand, could be devastated by an earthquake. Read the selections for this module and answer questions regarding impediments.
Address the following:
Describe impediments to disaster prevention in major cities.
For each of the impediments you described, provide specific examples in recent earthquake disasters. Describe strategies for addressing the impediments in your examples.
