Fragmentations: The Collapse of Soviet Union and the effects

Prompt: Fragmentations
The 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union removed one of the international system’s core limits and allowed an “uncorking” of various forces that had been subsumed by superpower conflict. In your informed and supported opinion what were the three most critical forces or developments and how did each of the post-Cold War presidents – Bush, Clinton, and Bush – attempt to address them? How successful were they and why? As you explore this question be sure to draw upon your understanding of the debate over the use of US power during the period carefully summarize the respective doctrines of Bush, Clinton, and Bush Administrations. In addition to the assigned readings, lectures, and films you may also elect to incorporate articles drawn from the USFP News Flipboard to support your response.
My thesis and Intro draft you may build on:
After defeating the Axis power during WW2, the USA and USSR remained the two superpowers until the end of the Cold War that lasted from 1946 to 1991. Despite cooperation during WWII, the US and the Soviet Union were rivals during the Cold War period. The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 gave rise to various developments that the USA as the only superpower has to deal with. Historians of the Cold War argue that the post-cold war effects still have influences on major foreign policies and international relations. They state that post-Cold War forces or developments stretch from several immediate effects to far-reaching changes that are still present. In this paper I will argue that the three most important developments in the post-Cold War period are: 1) the rise of the U.S as the world’s only superpower, 2) fragmentation (globalization and clash of civilization), and 3) the rise of asymmetric conflicts because they are broad enough to include other post-Cold War forces that have been shaping how the leading power, the U.S. acts and reacts to the rest of the world and vice versa. To do this, first, the paper will explore these major post-cold war forces or developments in details. Then, it will analyze how and why successfully the three post-cold war U.S. presidents: Bush, Clinton and Bush attempted to address these changes.
Further Notes:
I prefer to keep my intro with some edits. If you edit by condensing and avoiding the run-ons sentences (the bold and underlined), I will be ok with the intro and thesis statement. However, I will also be ok if you chose prompt to make major changes to it. Please check “three most important developments” I stated above, I don’t mind if you make changes to them too. But please keep the first one “the rise of the U.S. as the world’s only superpower” as is. You may also change the paper topic. I have checked the “originality box”, so please as original as possible. It would be great if you complete it as soon as possible.
Main book: A Concise History of U.S. Foreign Policy by Joyce P. Kaufman. And the following table with links. You may also use your own. Please include 3-5 or above references. Please keep me updated, every 6 hours if possible.
